CDT (Carbohydrate-Deficient Transferrin)
in Serum, Complete Kit, Order No. 21 000

CDT (carbohydrate deficient transferrin) is the most specific parameter for chronic alcohol abuse.

The test procedure of RECIPE closely directs to the recommendations of the IFCC-CDT-WG* for a "candidate reference method" and ensures a reliable separation of the transferrin-isoforms asialo- to hexasialotransferrin. The test kit can be applied for routine diagnostic as well as for confirmation analysis in case of unplausible diagnostic findings. The robust chromatography allows for a safe identification of genetic variants and thus prevents false diagnostic results. Besides to the diagnostic of alcohol abuse the test is suitable for the screening of CDG syndromes.

Alternatively, this application may also be performed as a fully automated method with on-line sample preparation („on-line“ analysis, order no. 21100).
