Antiepileptic drugs (AED) are the mainstray of treatment for epilepsy. The medication enables the patient to live free of epileptic seizures. Depending on the type of epilepsy, several AEDs with diverse activity mechanisms may be used for the management of this disease.

For the monitoring of the AED plasma level, the ClinRep® complete kit of RECIPE allows the simultaneous determination of 13 analytes* within 15 min time for analysis. Due to an effective sample clean-up (the sample preparation vials are filled with a special salt mixture for an optimal analyte extraction) highly purified eluates are obtained for chromatography. For quality assurance, a serum calibrator and serum controls in different ranges of concentration are available.
